Dolos and Tri-bars were used to repair damaged sections of the breakwater that protects the entrance to Nawiliwili Harbor on the east coast of the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
The dolos were typically placed in a single layer on the ocean side over existing 18-ton Tri-bars and under-layer stones, while the smaller Tri-bars were placed in a single layer over under-layer stones on the harbor side of the breakwater.
