The concrete floats were supplied directly to the City of Seward under a design-manufacture-supply contract in conformance with performance specifications issued by the city. The owner wanted a superior float system that would withstand the demands of berthing larger boats in the harsh environment of Alaska and require minimal maintenance. The Transpac "ORCA" float system incorporates a robust yet flexible connection between float units for long service life.
Finger floats are one-piece and walkway floats are up to 50 feet long minimizing the number of joints between floats
Concrete floats are robust structural sections and do not rely on wood walers for structural integrity.
Exposed concrete surfaces are treated with silane sealer
