Good Samaritan Hospital Garage

Puyallup, WA

The five-level parking garage, set back into the hill on a steeply sloping site adjacent to the Good Samaritan Hospital, provides 500 parking stalls for staff, patients and visitors. The structural framing system uses 58 ft. long, 24" deep double tees with cast-in-place topping for the floors and precast beam/column units for the exterior floor supports. Cast-in-place shear walls at the center and ends of the garage provide the lateral seismic restraint.

Brick facing on the beam/column units and the spandrels provides an architectural match with the brick facade of the main hospital building.

Features

Open Exterior - The excavated hillside is shored with a retaining wall outside the garage structure, allowing open construction and ventilation around the full perimeter of the parking floors.

Brick Facing - Red brick facing was applied to the beam/column units and spandrel panels to match the appearance of the existing hospital building.
