This river crossing was constructed with the longest single-piece girders used in the Pacific Northwest at the time. The 168 foot long decked bulb tees provide a clear span over the Cispus River in a remote region of the Cascade Mountains in Washington.
Long Span - The extra long span allowed for the elimination of a center pier that presented problems with flooding and log jams for a previous bridge at that location.
Integral Deck - The Decked Bulb Tees have a 6" thick deck cast integrally with the girders at the precast plant. This serves as the final road surface and reduces the amount of cast-in-place concrete work required at the remote jobsite.
