International Museum of Glass, Tacoma, WA |
|

This exciting new addition to the redevelopment of the Thea Foss Waterway in Tacoma is home to a collection of art glass by Dale Chihuly and other artists, a working "hot shop" for glass artists; and conference, lecture, parking, and administrative areas. The $50 million museum, designed by internationally renowned architect Arthur Erickson, is supported by a foundation of 258 prestressed concrete piles.
Hollowcore slabs are used for a waterfront plaza along the shoreline.
